I sold the winning ticket to a guy here in town last year. Unfortunately he was unsuccessful, as the weather was not too cooperative. Lack of snowfall still had the elk up high, but there were still elk to be had.

The first morning of his hunt they came upon a 6x6 with about 40 cows. Ranged them at 470 yards, but a couple hundred of those yards were on the other side of the fence. Guide felt that they would come across the fence to the property, when moving into position they got winded and stampede ensued... in the opposite direction.

Second day of the hunt he came up on a 4x4 for a brief glance. He was given the green light to shoot it if it came back out of the timber, but never got the chance.

Day 3 the 6x6 was seen again, but long ways outside the property line. More, smaller bulls were seen just outside the fence, but a long ways from their position. A shot from the neighboring property sent everything to the timber.

On the evening of day 5, another hunter in camp connected with a 5x6 and a cow.

Regardless of not connecting, the hunter had a great time and loved the hunt. He is already asking about tickets for this year. The scenery is outstanding, and guides were very hospitable. He really liked his guide, which can make a hunt miserable or top notch. Reported that they were great folks and had a good time in the down time from hunting, just shootin the bull.
