I don't hate Palin like the left does, but I don't worship the ground she walks on like some on the right do either.

She is impressive in terms of her personal accomplishments and she is a useful tool in regards to getting out messages and raising money, but she is not a viable candidate, IMHO. She fires up the opposition, and that's a campaign killer.

She will have to campaign, debate, and politic against Newt, Romney, Huck, maybe a few others like Jindal and Pawlenty.

If she can best all of the others, more power to her.

It might be a good idea for her to run to win her party nomination tho before she starts to run against O

I can't figure out why everyone hates her. I don't know if I like her or not, but I can't understand the hate.

The Left hates her because she inspires the people.

Newt is damaged goods, he couldn't get elected as dog catcher. The others can't even win the primaries.
For too long the republican party has pushed on us the Dole and McCain types, beltway insiders that have no appeal to the public and are politicians in the worst sense of the word.
In a way, I'd rather see Clinton and Obama than the likes of HW Bush, McCain, Dole and others.

Last time I checked, Huck and Romney won way more primaries than Sarah ever has.

There is just no way to get around the fact that to win the (R) nomination she has to win more delegates than any other nominee in her party.

She could do well in Iowa, maybe NH and some southern states.
How bout CA, NY, PA, OH, ... ?
The states that have the most delegates?

While Big Bird could beat Obama I am not looking forward to Palin unless she is the only real choice left. I would rather see he run then the Huckster, McCain or most of the others.

I would love to see Christie or someone like him. He even has a ready made slogan. "Let me help you pack."

I like Palin as a personality but don't see much substance there when it comes to governing ... this country needs someone who has the guts to do the hard thing. It is kinda hard to see her doing the "hard thing" when she couldn't even make it through her term as a Gov.

Actually, there were two reason why she quit her job: 1) The frivolous ethics complaints prevented her from doing her job as Governor of Alaska; and 2) In a six month period she accumulated over $500,000 in legal fees.

How long would you stay at a job that: 1) you weren't allowed to perform because of other frivolous distractions; and 2) cost you eight times more than you made from the job? Not long I would imagine.

In Friday's press conference announcing that she'd step down as governor a year before her term ended, Sarah Palin made a point to mention the ethics charges that bogged her down in office. Fifteen probes took up her time, her money (she's $500,000 in the hole in legal fees), and $2 million in taxpayer resources. "We've won!" she crowed, going on to lament the cost of her victories. "That's money not going to fund teachers or troopers - or safer roads. And this political absurdity, the 'politics of personal destruction' ... It's pretty insane - my staff and I spend most of our day dealing with this instead of progressing our state now."http://www.adn.com/2010/06/24/1339431/settlement-of-ethics-complaint.html

Keep in mind I am a stone cold republican, however I have had a few drinks tonight so don't take my opinions too seriously.

To be honest, I cant really decide my feelings about Palin. Half the time I think she brings up some good points and stands by them. Other times, I dont think she has the intelligence to cook her own breakfast. Granted, I would much rather have her in office than the scum bag that is in there now, however she would not be anywhere near my first choice for a candidate.

It almost seems that the many members of the republican party are too into feel good politics (not referring to palin but in general) and starting to act like the dems (no offense intended). Personally, I am ready for a candidate that feels the rights, concerns, and safety of this country supersede all other issues. It gets kind of tiresome to hear about our country spending so much money to stimulate and help the economies of other countries while ours is suffering. I would personally like a candidate that is not concerned with feel-good politics, but rather one that considers what is in the best interest of our nation, not other nations.

Excellent post Yukon. The Liberal establishment went after her with passion. I cannot remember another politician attacked so hideously.
