Bought a Remington 597 on Thursday to plink with (last one BP had in stock). My salesman James told me to come back Friday for some hard to find 22lr ammo for my new rifle. He held back some ammo for me until I was able to drop by at lunch to pick it up. In today's ammo crazed hoarding world, I think I was happier to get the ammo than the gun. If you go to BP, tell James at the gun counter he is a good guy. Better yet ask for him when you have a purchase to make.

$189 for the rifle (standard barrel) - $28.99 for 555 rds of Winchester copper plated hollow points.

James is an awesome guy . I used to work with him and he is a good friend of mine. Next time you are in bp go to customer service and fill out a survey for him. If you give him a good rating he will get a gift card as a bonus.

I saw that too at the Academy store, but I looked closer and it wasn't actually .22 LR it was .22 WMR.

Yeah yeah.....guess I should have looked closer. I do know for a fact they had plenty of 20rd steel case 223 of some brand I had not heard of. Would be an alright deal if you could buy more than one friggin box!

i bought two boxes ( 50rnds. ) of 9mm at BPS for 13.99 ea. I saw a gentleman ahead of me buy 6 boxes of 9mm and 3 boxes of .223. so the didn't seem to be limiting any one. That,s BPS in OKC.
