Some of the comments from Romney defenders are hilarious.

I'll go on record (I can't speak for any of the other Romney-bashers) as saying that of course I don't want Obama in the White House. I don't honestly think anyone on this board does. That fact alone does not mean that I support Romney.

The funniest thing to me is as soon as you say anything bad about Romney (or point out similarities between Obama and Romney) his minions come out in full-force using phrases like "Obama is your messiah"... with little to no facts to dispute anything bad said about Romney... almost as if religiously defending Romney... in many cases, more vehemently than I've heard folks defend their faith... Kind of like Romney is their messiah.

Just because I say something negative (though truthful) about a particular candidate you happen to have hitched your wagon to... in no way does that mean that I'm for "the other guy". This "Us vs. Them" garbage is ridiculous. There's plenty of disdain out there for both candidates and I'll prove it:

What if (insert name of the greatest president in your mind) was running against Romney in the Primaries? Would you vote for Romney? If no (then congratulations, you have a pulse as Romney isn't the greatest president in your mind), then list the reasons why you would vote for George Washington, or Lincoln, or Eisenhower, etc... over Romney and you have done exactly what those who actually care about the GOP are doing now - pointing out that they should be doing a lot more for the party and ultimately the people than they are currently doing. I say the same thing to Dems about their party/candidates and get accused of being a "Tea-bagger" or "Neo-Con", etc...

Ironically every time I hear brainwashed GOP'ers high-fiving each other over how much "better Romney is than Obama" I have the exact same thought as when I see idiots out there with signs supporting Obama and yelling about how he's going to give them free phones, or Healthcare, or money... The extremists on both sides are nearly identical in every way.

I can't imagine anyone getting excited about ANYTHING that goes on in the mainstream political world...

The choice before us today for President is a pretty simple one in my mind. Obama will just take us further down the road to collapse and I'm not willing to give in. I don't subscribe to any notion that we'll teach the GOP a lesson if we don't vote for Romney... if that were possible, then they would have heard that loud and clear when McCain got his azz handed to him.

Nay... if you want real change and choice in this country, you're going to have to wait until we don't have it so cushy. Even with the economy as bad as it is, evidently it's still possible to be below the poverty level and own several TV's, an iPhone, a decent car and eat Taco Bell every meal... and if you can't figure out a way, the government will be more than happy to provide all of that and more for you. We've been living in the land of opportunity and prosperity for so long now that nobody is fired up enough to REALLY rock the boat. Between entitlements and technology keeping the idiots fed and distracted, your chances of making America even better than it already is are pretty much nil.

Perhaps our economy isnt really that bad. What is an acceptable unemployment rate for a country that went from a manufactoring/producing country to an economy thats now based serviceing/consuming? 10% is prolly good.

Now consider intrest rates, home ownership, median income, education, healthcare. Even here in OK our unemployment rate is 5-7%, that great since we dont really manufactor much.

Choice is simply Romney is the lesser of two evils with regards to the values and morals we as Oklahoman's have on average. Romney is not going to be good, but in my opinion Obama could be the anti christ!

How many of us would hire a guy, for any kind of service, that has failed, lied, refused to take responsibility for his actions, blamed others for his failures, and continue to hire him for more projects?
I would fire his butt in a new york minute and hire someone new.
Like him or not, I am going to give Romney a chance. I know what Obama has offered and it hasn't been good.

How are his values and morals similar to Oklahoma's? If Romney were going up against W. Bush, McCain or Palin, would you hold the same opinion? Did your opinion of him change from back when he was just a scumbag politician in Massachusetts who was for government health-care, bail-outs, and gun-control... to Republican presidential candidate?

Isn't anyone who denies that Jesus is the Christ considered to be the AntiChrist (i.e. a Mormon - who does not define Jesus as Christians do)?

No offense, but that's just rhetoric - its feel-good, emotional politics and its not based on any facts.

The intent of this thread was not to ask you to pick between the two, but to make some of you actually take stock of the candidate you happen to support (or the one you don't support the least...?).

The lesser of two evils just leads to the same location via a slightly different (though increasingly similar) path.

Does the fact that someone got fired (or the company just waited until they left on their own but really didn't want them back) mean that the first guy who applies for the job gets picked regardless of the fact that his/her resume looked worse than the person who was just fired?

romney's done all that, so it seems you would hire that kind of person.

i'll vote on the state questions and other offices, but the presidential ticket will remain blank again.

I'm going to shoot for another signature-worthy quote here:

Obama has done every bit as much for working-class black families as Romney has done for working-class white families.

You heard it here first.
