Here is a quick pic of my 13 year old son's 10/22. His stock was too long for him, so we bought a take off stock for him to use until he grows a little.

He wanted to camo it, so he cut it down 2", removed all the original varnish, cleaned it, primered it, and then taped and camoed it all himself. Not a bad job for a first effort. He is pumped, we are shooting it this weekend.

Man, that is cool! He reminds me of myself at that age, taking stuff apart and painting it. My kid is 8 and I hope he shows an interest in that kind of thing at some point. I doubt he'd know what a roll of masking tape looks like.

Ha i cant wait till my son gets older so we can work on this stuff together. Great job for being a first try. i was really into painting model airplanes and such in camo back when i was yonger then i got into airbrushing model cars. ahhh the good ol days of a paint fume filled room lol.
