Quality time with kids.

Hello everyone. My kids are getting older and quality time isn't as easy for us as it once was. My girls are now 9, 12, and 15 and all have different interests. My oldest who use to be a tomboy is now about the boys, my middle child is a little chef and regularly cooks dinner for our family, and my youngest is our baby and hasnt found her own grove just yet. My oldest has built guns, hunted, fished, etc with me since she was little, but doesn't show the same interest anymore. We sold her last AR because she wanted something else more. I bought parts slowly to build her a new gun and after over 6 months she decided she wanted to build it with me tonight. I fought back tears tonight spending time with just her and I like we use to. Kids grow up way too fast and quality time is harder and harder to get with them on a one on one basis. Here are some pictures from tonight. Please feel free to share pictures of quality time you spend with your kids.

Took my 17yo son to the range today, but no pics. I do love spending time with the kids, but as they have grown up, like yours, our interests have diverged. That means I did something right and raised them to be their own independent person and not just a copy of me.

My two girls are grown and been gone awhile. Put the time in with them when they are young and it will come back to you when your old.

I am a single old fart with no kids of my own,,,
Fortunately for me I have a friend with seven kids,,,
He has let the youngest four "adopt" me as their "Crazy Uncle Aarond".

Couple of times a month I go to his house,,,
He and I sit on their porch sharing a good six-pack,,,
While the four kids play with whatever "treat" I bring them.

They make me smile and breath easy.

I "tried" to be a good dad to both of my daughters, but alas, a cop doesn't make much moolah. So yeah, I worked about three jobs, usually 7 days a week, so I missed a lot of ball games, ag shows, birthday parties, etc.

The OP’s kids may be getting older, but I think he won’t have to worry about his oldest - not only does she have an AR, she knows how to build them too! The boys are the ones who will have to worry…

I can't think of anything that is better than those pictures, and that quality quality time. You my friend are extremely blessed.
