I think wearing the Recon shirt is fine as long as you don't wear the "official" thong with it. That's only for the real Marines! Just kidding! Just kidding! Go ahead and wear the thong too!

Yeah, that's it, you can get 'em in varrious camo patterns now too. I love mine, especially for at the pool.
I personally wouldn't wear the force recon shirt, the thong on the other hand Hell Yea!!!

Id say wear them. If someone asks or challenges you just tell them your wearing the shirt(s) in support of the unit/department.
I don't see how wearing the shirts honors anyone. Are you gonna call him everytime you wear them and let him know he's being honored? I think you want to wear the cop shirt so people will think your a cop. The Jolly Rancher factor.
