im happy thus far with the Midwest HG. Not having the continuous rail makes it more comfortable to wrap my thumb over the top. Its definitely a quality piece and everything I hoped it would be but I admit that $200 is a bit much.

Had a few light primer strikes so I replaced my clipped GI spring with a JP yellow kit and bobbed my hammer to see how it performs. the gun is accurate and follow up shots are a breeze with the PA brake and adj gas block.

I would really like to have a 15" key mod or mlok handguard but the decent ones are way more than my cheap a$$ is willing to pay.

I just put together this Andersen lower with an A2 stock and put a PSA middy upper on it. I think it looks and handles ok with the MOE handguard for now.

The Samson might be able to fit over a suppressor. Not quite sure though. I think on the Samson website it has a video of what you may be looking for.

The Seekins/BAR type handguard are 1.8" ID I think. I've been checking them out for my pistol when I get the can for it.

ETA: Yep, 1.79" ID and only $155 for the Seekins/Primary Arms keymod 15".

So I finally got the calipers out and checked things....



Rainier Evolution Keymod 11.0" Handguard - listed at 1.56" ID

YHM Titanium .30 Cal. Q.D. Phantom suppressor - listed at 1.60" O.D.

Sonofa.... dangit. Only thing I can think of is that looking through literally DOZENS of suppressor variations, I just plain ol' missed it. 0.1". FOOK ME. I was pretty bleary-eyed looking at all the suppressor reviews, stats, etc. It was pretty ridiculous. Some of the YHMs are 1.50, looks like the non-titanium ones. But it's JUST enough that I can't fit it. Argh.

I've got a buddy who has a nice lathe he said we could try to shave some off the inside of the rail... maybe I'll try that. Only needs like 0.05" or something. I mean, it SHOULD fit based even on my measurements, but there's a degree of human error there, I'm sure, and 1-1.5 hundredths on each side isn't enough spare room.
