You’ll get a cleaner cut and your sandpaper will last better if you do. You can also go up to 3000 grit in steps if you want to go that far. Then hit them with the compound and glaze.

Yes I do use water and add a few drops of Dawn or other soft soap.
This keeps the sandpaper from loading up as easily.

I keep a towel pushed in below the headlights to keep the solution off my painted surfaces.
I just don't want to wipe any grit off my paint ya know.

Thanks for the learning!

Thanks. We will be replacing the CRV soon, but may keep it around for me to beat around in. I am going to attempt the sanding to see what it does, but they are realllllllly bad. Here is a photo, so most likely @dlbleak, they will be replaced! Ya’ll think these are to far gone?

If that is all on the outside of the lens it is an easy restore.
And it looks to be all outside.
You could begin wet sanding with 1000 grit and see if that slicks it up.

I do not like to start coarser if I can get it done with a finer grit.
Now get after it.

The wife's were 10x worse you could not even see any chrome headlight through the fogged over lens.

Rinse the sandpaper often as you go.
I use a small plastic jug with warm soapy water.

I use the maroon 3m Scotch-Brite pads to take off material and then use a couple of buffing compounds with a DA to smooth them out before cleaning and clear coating them. I can get the 2012 replacement lights for $116 each.

1 liter squirt bottle. Sand a little, squirt squirt, sand a little more....

I have 500 and 1000 on hand. I will get 12 through 15 tomorrow. Thanks on the instructions! I thought they were shot to ****!

I will give the sanding a try, but will holler on the offer at $116 each.
