Yes, I would be honored to raffle this off. It is just a small quick study painting unframed measuring 8" X 10" titled "Sad Marine" The main focus is the flag draped coffin that is why all the other things are not developed. I have had for years and had no one to give it to. Then OSA and @druryj came into my life albeit through the keyboard and fiber optic cable, I considered him a friend and we have had a few private conversations.

Does anyone know how to start a raffle on OSA? I can create a thread to do this, or I can somehow add it to the go fund me? @surjimmy ?
Let me know as well if you raffle this off

Is there a Go fund me site? Please post if possible. If not, I'm going to make a donation here in his name.
There is a givesendgo page setup instead of a gofundme page.

6 years here and we never met, intended to but it never panned out. A man we shall carry here for years to come. He'll not be forgotten and we shall think of him often. He is now in a better place and back with the love of his life. Joel keep your eye on us as with the brothers gone before you. But, Rest in Peace and know you touched us all.
A Marines Final Inspection

The Marine stood and faced God Which must always come to pass

He hoped his shoes were shining Just as brightly as his brass.

"Step forward Marine, How shall I deal with you?

Have you always turned the other cheek? To My Church have you been true?"

The Marine squared his shoulders and said, "No, Lord, I guess I ain't

Because those of us who carry guns Can't always be a saint.

I've had to work most Sundays And at times my talk was tough,

And sometimes I've been violent, Because the world is awfully rough.

But, I never took a penny That wasn't mine to keep...

Though I worked a lot of overtime When the bills got just too steep.

And I never passed a cry for help, Though at times I shook with fear,

And sometimes, God forgive me, I've wept unmanly tears.

I know I don't deserve a place Among the people here,

They never wanted me around Except to calm their fears.

If you've a place for me here, Lord, It needn't be so grand,

I never expected or had too much, But if you don't, I'll understand."

There was a silence all around the throne Where the saints had often trod

As the Marine waited quietly, For the judgment of his God.

"Step forward Marine, You've borne your burdens well,

Walk peacefully on Heaven's streets, You've done your time in Hell."

He was one of the most honorable men I have ever met. Joel and I became good friends and would go to the range together every weekend for several years. He taught me a lot about shooting and a lot about life. He was truly a friend to all. I know Mary and Joel are back together now and they are dancing and she is making him listen to Rod Stewart. You will be missed friend.
