Have been looking at getting a S&W 15/22 however, I just noticed the SIG522 online and was wondering how it compares to the 15/22. I heard nothing but positive feedback at the range on the 15/22 but haven't seen the SIG in person or met anybody with one. Any pro/cons that anybody wants to share?

Never held or shot the Sig...but I can attest to the awesomeness of the 15-22. I bought one at the beginning of this year and shot the bajeebas out of it. Solid, fun rifle...and they're cheaper now....I've seen them going fro right at 400$. In 7 months time I ran over 8000 rounds of various branded ammo through it without a major issue. I sold mine to fund an AR purchase...kinda wish I hadn't.

Only buy a S&W M&P 15-22 if you are looking to have hours upon hours of .22 shooting fun.

I'm leaning heavily towards the 15/22, just haven't seen one with a threaded barrel for sale locally recently which is how I stumbled across the SIG. Guess I just need to go talk with my FFL guy and get things arranged.

379.00 with free shipping is the best I have found for these. I order from this company all the time and they ship quickly and have a large data base of local FFL dealers already established.

Check with Sooner State Pawn for a threaded model. Seemed to be getting them in pretty regularly when I got my son his and they are a breeze to deal with.

I've owned both. They both are good guns and fun. I prefer the Sig. It feels more solid than the Smith to me. The Smith is a better AR trainer. I have two of the Sig rifles and one 522 pistol. One of the rifles came with the target barrel and is very accurate. With my Warlock on it just doubles the fun. You can't go wrong with either.
