If you are training for AR the smith is hard to beat. It is fairly easy to clean and most parts and mag pouches swap with AR stuff. Never tried the Sig.
Have you considered a Ruger SR-22 Rifle? I have owned a 15-22 (good rifle) and own 10/22s (also good rifles) but the SR-22rifle is the most "anatomically correct" AR surrogate .22 LR caliber rifle I have used, in terms of weight and feel. The magazine is, however, standard Ruger 10/22 but at least that means cheap and readily available. If you want something close to a std AR try one out.
