Do these centipedes really bite?
Serious question.

Edit: Apparently they do. Feels similar to a bee sting. Learned something new.

how is this stuff applied and where?

it comes in little pouches and you drop 1 in a sprayer with a gallon of water shake it up i wait for about an hour and spray it on the outside of my house and on the patio, first spray of the year I double the mix just make sure the wind doesnt blow it back on you because if you dont wash in off in about 15 minutes you are going to start seeing some things.

We get em in our house all the time. We've sprayed and sprayed and sprayed, but they still show up. The gotdamned are gonna survive the apocalypse!

A bee sting is a slap on the wrist, these centipedes have probably the worst sting you can experience in North America in my opinion, unless you encounter a murder hornet somehow

Sticky traps are cheap and work very good.

Scorpion sting mix baking soda into paste with water. Apply to bite let set 5-10 min and the magic will happen.

Bifen granules. I sprinkle it around the foundation on our bunkhouse and on the porch similar to what was posted about diazinon. Works great! Can order off Amazon. Sticky traps work too but I'd prefer to stop them before they get into the house.

I find these centipedes in my house on occasion. But mine are usually smaller (3" long) and are more brown in color (not colorful).

Are there different types of centipedes, and do the small/brown ones also bite?

Ok...full disclosure. The photo of the centipede I posted was from two years ago in front of the hotel we stayed at in San Antonio.

The ones I get at my house are about an inch and a quarter in length. Luckily, I haven't been stung by one...yet.

I didn't even know we had that many around till I listed a country home for sale to the SW of Okarche- they were all over the place. I then move to a country home about 8 miles southeast of that place and I was taking a shower one day- had my hair all pooed up and I kept seeing something but didn't know what- finally got the poo washed out and hanging on the shower curtain about but high was one of those little devils- man I'm glad I didn't back his way, or worse walk forward his way. I put some of that general bug granules on the yard around the house and didn't have any more trouble in the house- might see one around the barn. It helped with fleas and ticks too
