Diazanon 4-E was what we always used to deter/combat/kill scorpions,,,
And on the fringes of rural OK City we saw a lot of those things,,,
We had this "spring cleaning" ritual every year at our house.

First we would move all upholstered furniture onto tarps in our front yard,,,
Then we scrubbed the hardwood floors and all other hard surfaces
Pop would mix a batch in the garden sprayer and soak the place.

Then we moved all of the furniture back into place.

We would see dead scorpions all over the house for the next few days,,,
But after that we never saw another one until next spring.

I can't imagine how many brain cells we killed in those "spring cleanings",,,
But we lived insect free for the entire year because of it.

Dang but I do hate trying to live in a buggy house.

I’ve been bitten once on the back of my hand. Felt like a wasp sting to me. I purchase Bifen It. Mix two oz of the chemical to 1 gal of water for outdoor use. We have only seen about six scorpions in the 23 years around the house since we have lived in the country. I don’t know how many around the property I have seen over the years.

We have had 1 scorpion in the house last year in October. My wife spotted it (I work from home and you never want to hear your wife scream) and she pointed it out in the middle of our kitchen floor. I grabbed a paper towel, grabbed the scorpion in it then threw the towel and scorpion in the trash (kind of figured it would be happier in the OKC dump.) Searched the entire house with a black light and fortunately none spotted. Called an exterminator, they searched the house and attic, none found.

Realized afterwards what had happened. I was prepping for Halloween and had the two indoor skeletons on the garage floor (getting a fresh coat of Luminous Spray Paint.) The offending stinging insect probably had settled on it, and when I dragged him into the house fell off. I will be carefully watching what I bring into the house from the garage from now on. I was probably lucky I wasn't stung.

We've only had one in the house this year, fairly small one. I found it in my warm up pants around 6 am when I pulled them on. He got me about 3-4" from the frank and beans. It was a noticeable sting for a good while.

He didn't die quick but he died.
If he had stung the “frank” it might’ve impressed the misses if it had swollen.

I find these centipedes in my house on occasion. But mine are usually smaller (3" long) and are more brown in color (not colorful).

Are there different types of centipedes, and do the small/brown ones also bite?
Im no entomologist, but I’d be hard pressed to say any centipede big enough to bite or sting, will bite or sting

I thought YOU said the centipede bite was worse then a bee sting. ...But now you don't think they're big enough to bite?

I'm confused. Please clarify.
I did type that, I’m not sure what you need clarification on. Some arthropods are able to sting or bite, but are unable to penetrate human skin. Larger variety’s of the same type of arthropods may be able to penetrate human skin. Those kinds hurt, I can assure you. You’re taking bug advice on a gun page my man. Google has a plethora of information if you somehow feel misled.
