Guys...
Guys...

Calm down. It's CaliMexiFornia. Wouldn't want to remind the hispanics where they're living and who's paying them would we. Might upset them and it just wouldn't be polite to upset them now would it.

Heck - not only should they have told Cody to stop flyin' the flag of the USA, they should have presented him with the flag of Mexico to fly and done it in front of the entire student body.

After all - this is the land of give us your poor, your hungry etc so we can feed 'em, educate 'em, pay for their medical care and eventually become them. After all...

Look, I agree this is wrong, but the idea of school administration and its ability to implement policies is pandora's box.

Back in highschool, in Edmond, my senior class had a huge liberal push for the ACLU to step in and have the Pledge of Allegiance removed from our class rooms due the the "Under God" issue (is was a banner posted above most chalk boards). The ACLU pursued and so many of my friends and had a grass root push and we made t-shirts that were simply Anti-ACLU.

Our school administration stepped in and told us we did NOT have the right to peacefully assemble, to speak freely, or protest on school grounds and that we had to stop our campaign to keep the pledge posted, however, the ACLU could continue their campaign.

It went as far as a group of 25 students being expelled for continuing the campaign to keep the pledge and we were almost prevented from walking.

After seeking legal help from Lawyers (two of my friends' dads were Attorneys), they pro-bono took on the ACLU outside the school and they ACLU dropped their pursuit.

Point being: historically the Law has sides that the school administration has the ability to pick and choose what rights students retain and its wrong. Until we restore these rights, injustices will continue ranging from the strip-search of minors w/o parental presence to examples as this.

Here, but occasionally There.
The irony is that Hispanic immigrants (on the whole) are very happy to be here and are quite thankful, it's only white leftists that are concerned with racial tension.

While I tend to agree with the first part of your statement, I distinctly remember a LOT of Hispanic folks protesting in California and flying their Mexican flags. La Raza is a group that would really like to get CA, AZ, NM, and Texas back into the Mexican system. (Don't know why, since I doubt the Mexican government could give them the free handouts that they tend to want.)

As for the white leftists, they are more concerned with appeasing others so that THEY can't be called racists. Don't forget that there are a lot of black leftists as well, many of whom would be the first to throw out the "race" card, thus proving that they may really be racists as well.

I think the sentiment has already been expressed, but this is just an example of the ignorance that rules among academia. Our flag is that of a nation, not a race.
