Had several people been carrying and some openly, he likely would not have resorted to shooting

Chances are there were a good number of folks carrying, and chose to not chase the guy as he ran from the store. Video shows him fighting with the victim, and quickly running out of the shoe store. He does not appear to be the kind of fellow that thought about the prospect of anyone else being armed in the store, or anywhere else.

Exactly. While every officer in OKC was responding to this isolated incident, the city was wide open for a serious event somewhere else. I hope there were some lessons learned yesterday.

Good gawd that's true. Channel 4 showed the same 3 second loop probably 15 times in a row.

Yesterday Ch 9 had an interview with a young girl that lasted about 3 minutes. She was really calm and explained what she was doing when she heard the shots, what she did afterward, and some really important details. Her interview was shorted today to the part where she said she was scared and that was it. Frikkin media!

Someone that twits should tweet to the twits in the local media. Maybe inform them where they lost opportunities to inform the viewers instead of paring down the information to fit a narrative. I understand they have time frames but this was a perfect teachable moment for them.

Terror and mayhem drives the news. Nothing but sensationalism will do. Was his age even reported? Probably wasn't old enough or couldn't get past the form you have to fill out to buy a gun legally but let's not let those pesky little unreported facts get in the way of disarming law abiding citizens.
