Honestly I've read so many things about this over the years and remember it happening , I don't know what to believe. Do I think Kerr McGee had her snuffed ? It's possible, but it would be a lot of trouble for a nobody like her. Did .gov do that ? Again I don't think so as she wasn't that level of importance as an employee and that facility fell into the realm of "open secrets" it wasn't like she worked at a covert facility no one knew about doing work no one was going to know anything about . Besides there's a million ways to deal with someone like her which don't involve going to the effort of having to assassinate her and then cover it up.

I had a High School teacher who had been a co-worker of Silkwood's at the Crescent plant. According to her, KS was a radical anti-establishment type and attention seeker, generally disliked by fellow employees, and whose stories were either greatly embellished or outright fabrications. I have no personal knowledge one way or another, but as a skeptic of Hollywood storytelling in general, I've never bought into the legend.

I worked with a guy many years ago that also knew and worked with KS at the plant. His description was similar to what you described.

Wonder why we don't have widespread nuclear power? Stuff like this. Companies take shortcuts and safety is compromised. Our Navy is an awesome example of nuclear power done correctly with many mobile nuclear reactors and no accidents (as far as we know...)

True navy has a great nuke program

Put your Stamp on Hamp.
Those old car hood used to be all over eastern Oklahoma, back in the day.

I am sure the movie was way different than the real story.

A lot of court documents and police reports point to definite skull dugery, at a high level, no matter KS demeanor. Most look like they confirm her story.
