Probably because Christianity was the only religion I was exposed to as a child and it seemed logical to me. Never really knew there were other religions until I was about grown - I grew up in a small town in SE Oklahoma. I have to think a lot of people like me identify with Christianity because it is socially unacceptable not to in the Bible Belt.

Neither of my parents were religious and most of my extended family and the majority of my friends identify with Christianity to some extent, but I figure the faith of most of them is broader than it is deep.:lookaroun

Obama's just trying to conceal his real religion. He's Jewish.

Just look at all the Jews he has in his administration.

David Axelrod
Rahm Emanuel
Peter Orszag
Jared Bernstein
Dennis Ross
Larry Summers

AND

He appointed Elena Kagan to the SCOTUS

Can't fool me. I read it in a email. :laugh6:

Does it really matter what religion he is. Last week I saw something that said he was Muslim. Most Muslims are more "religious" that Christians.

My brother lived, worked, and traveled with muslims in the middle east for many years. I once asked him about how muslims live their lives. He said they are very "religious" as you put it when at home. But, since he traveled with them he saw them away from their homes and outside of their communities and said that anything went. According to him they (at least the one's he workded with in two different countries) are as decadent as any people he's been around but they go to great lengths to hide it.

I doubt he has any super natural beliefs at all.
He seems to find the Christian Bible inspirational.
Nothing wrong with that.

Edit: In all honesty, there are many atheists in this country who never really wanted to be.
They claim faith because (Lord o Mercy) that's just easier than arguing about it.

That's what Obama seems to me. And I don't blame him. Nor do I care. But that's my counter to the "He's a Muslim crowd"...I don't think he's religious. Sorry, I don't. Growing up in Oklahoma, I have enough experience with the "Sigh, it's just easier this way" stuff from many people to make me THINK I recognize it in him.

I cant speak for Islam, but I know I get sick of people saying "So and so isnt Christian [or insert some other religion here], because I have seen them do [some action perceived to be contrary]." All Christians sin, and I imagine all Muslims sin. Its in our very nature. Anyone of them who says they dont,... well,... are sinning.
