I don't know how you figure something was prevented that didn't happen.
In the late 60s we had numerous planes hijacked to Cuba - the reason for screening and airport security to begin with.
How many plane hijackings to Cuba have been prevented by the security since then?
You can't put an accurate quantity to that.

Security screenings are not a deterent. It just forces the person to be more creative.

But like I said, I dont care either way. I dont drive.

I want one of those big muscled up Russian immigrant women to do my pat down.

All stupid remarks aside I'd have a real problem with some weido patting down one of my G'kids.
I'd be videoing it in case I wanted to press charges later.

I am not defending this practice, but for a person to civilly sue the TSA or an individual is likely impossible. The case would be dismissed so long as the standard procedures are followed.

You all realize that, for better or worse, the vast majority of these agencies are immune from any civil suits against them so long as they are following orders?

This is easy for me to say since I dont fly.... but if all of this crap prevents 1 terrorist incident, isnt it worth it?

1 incident doesnt sound like a lot, but I assure you it would be a big deal to those on board and their families.

Those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety.

I don't agree with the Scanners or the body searches. I think it is a invasion of our right to privacy. having said that if people are willing to allow the TSA to take pictures of there naked bodies and or feel them and there families up that is there right to allow them to do so. As for me and my house we will not fly and I will not let the TSA take PIctures of my children and or feel them up that is my right and choice.

PS i don't think we should stand by and let the FED's "nudge" us deeper into there control. the Scanners are way out of line and also to Pat downs. IMHO
:soldiers: GOD BLESS AMERICA.

I pray that some day we can take back our rights and elect people who stand for our rights and are there to protect them instead of finding new ways to slowly take them away.

Forget the child scenario, it's the muslim women we might need to watch out for. Homeland Security is taking into consideration some more PC bullcrap. I can't remember the exact details, but some high ranking muslim group said female muslims should not be subjected to the scans or pat downs, because in their religion, only the husband can "see" her and touch her. Yes, our government is considering letting them do this. WTF?! All that's going to happen is the guys will strap bombs to the women and send them on board. I've personally seen the women used as suicide bombers overseas, so don't tell me it doesn't happen! Has anyone else heard about this?

I understand you can't sue them.
But they do work for us.
I don't think the vetting in the early days looked for someone prone to sexual mischief.
So there very well could be a prev or two working there.
If they look like they're getting thier jollies feeling off a kid it needs to be reported.
Video would help.

Yes indeed, this is the stupidity of the whole thing. The last time I flew which was a couple of years ago, they were pulling some 90 year grandma, and every as american as can be looking person out of line while they let four people dressed up in all the burka gear walk right on the plane without an extra look or scrutiny. I think they were going for a "see, we aren't profiling" moment.

Yes, I seriously question the point of it all, and honestly, I don't think it makes air travel ANY safer. I think it just makes people "think" it is safer.

Thanks,

Alan
