The subject of "Domestic Abuse" has gotten very serious over the last 10-15 years. It doesn't take much to get charged and a Victim Protection Order (VPO) is usually not far behind.

It's usually the female party that causes the arrest to occur with just a verbal complaint that violence has occured, but the law works both ways. I'm seeing more men pressing charges than I used to.

I sit back and laugh at the old John Wayne movies like McClintock where he grabs his ex-wife, Maureen O'Hara, throws her across her lap and spanks her with a coal shovel. He'd go to prison for that nowadays.

Times change.

Call it what you want. But Using the justice system, yes. Using it because you got ***** slapped = pansy.

So if I walked up to you and slapped you in the back, you would just turn the other cheek and walk away right? Because its just a little ***** slap as you said...

Or you'd probably turn around and knock the crap out of me like I deserve and like everyone else would. Now change me to a female and it magically makes it okay?!? Your logic is flawed beyond belief.

ooooh, there's that word. butthurt. Now I'm butthurt.

Protect himself? Gotcha. Police! Police! She put a red mark on me!!!

As a previous post said, Justice is supposed to be blind.... male....female.... doesn't matter... held to the same standard. Thousands of men have been jailed for putting a red mark on women in similar situations, but you're saying it's okay this time, because it was the female who was the aggressor.... wow..

I don't disagree with that at all. Domestic abuse is one thing, but I don't think that's what this is. Women often need protection from abuse and that's not good. But I belive this marine got more abuse from Iraqi sand in his shorts than a back slap from a little girl.

Well yes. A female aggressor IS different. What's beyond belief is that you equate the two as equal.

What's beyond the belief is you think a red mark on the back is knocking the crap out of someone.

What's beyond belief is that you consider the consequences of a ***** slap on the back fair justice.

You are probably right and it sucks what he did to her. But she messed up and the law is the law.

I hope she moves on and finds a better man.

Here you go, this is the State Law

21 OS 644:

C. Any person who commits any assault and battery against a current or former spouse, a present spouse of a former spouse, a former spouse of a present spouse, parents, a foster parent, a child, a person otherwise related by blood or marriage, a person with whom the defendant is or was in a dating relationship as defined by Section 60.1 of Title 22 of the Oklahoma Statutes, an individual with whom the defendant has had a child, a person who formerly lived in the same household as the defendant, or a person living in the same household as the defendant shall be guilty of domestic abuse. Upon conviction, the defendant shall be punished by imprisonment in the county jail for not more than one (1) year, or by a fine not exceeding Five Thousand Dollars ($5,000.00), or by both such fine and imprisonment. Upon conviction for a second or subsequent offense, the person shall be punished by imprisonment in the custody of the Department of Corrections for not more than four (4) years, or by a fine not exceeding Five Thousand Dollars ($5,000.00), or by both such fine and imprisonment. The provisions of Section 51.1 of this title shall apply to any second or subsequent offense.

Please show me where it differentiates between male and female aggressors???? Show me where is says that if it's a "***** slap" it is okay???? Show me where it says that receiving "red marks" are okay, as long a scorned a woman was the giver of said red marks????
