I had to extricate myself from a physical assualt by my ex wife when I would not give her the bill money to go out and party , I was defending myself and used the absolute minimum amount of force necessary to get disengaged before the ***** hospitalized me and I was still taken to jail with injuries and she walked scott free with nothing but a sore arm and a bruise on her thigh.

At what point does it become okay for him to call the police? Bruising? Blood? Broken Nose? I personally wouldn't have called them over a slap, but then again I wouldn't cheat (product of divorce).

Get her a good lawyer. Hopefully, the DA will decline charges or the judge will dismiss. Alternatively, maybe she can get a deferred sentence and it will be off her record and gone in a year or so.

The unfortunate truth is that there are women who use the whole domestic violence issue as a way to exact revenge on their partners. In an effort to protect true victims of DV, the police and the legal system are overly broad in their definition. Part of the reason is that in the past the situations escalated and the women were brutalized and/or murdered, this is after police had been out. So, a zero tolerance policy has come into effect.
