It's not about NEED folks. It never has been.
If it was all about need then ask the guy driving the Lexus why he needs a Lexus when an $8K box on wheels with a heater and an AC will get him where he NEEDS to go just fine.
Ask the wife with a $10K diamond engagement/wedding set on her left hand why she needs that when a simple 14 carat gold band quite adequately serves the same purpose.
Hell! Ask your liberal anti-gun friends that earn $250K+ a year why they NEED that much money when one can live in a perfectly comfortable 1400 square foot house and eat 3 balanced meals a day on $20K/year or so quite easily. They don't need that - tell 'em they should keep doing what they're doing but take that extra $230K and donate it to a deserving charity.
Lots of examples available to respond to the why do you need argument and so far no one has been able to adequately rebutt my response. (then again I don't know very many fudds and even fewer liberal anti-gunners).
Maybe one of y'all can poke holes in my response to the why do you need argument.
The crux of what I have heard is this: "OMG, why do you need a XYZ gun and 987rd capacity mag other than for killing?"
It's obviously an emotionally charged rhetorical question with no good answer.
In their mind, if you say "the Constitution doesn't require a justification for need. It is an absolute right; it does not apply only to weapons from that time, and it does not only apply if the keeper/bearer has a valid justification;" then you have admitted that the only valid purpose is killing - again, in their minds.
Also, if you say that "that is not the only purpose of owning a gun;" then you're admitting that justification for owning is allowable - again, in their minds.
Finally, if you address the emotion behind, "killing people" - which right now implies innocent 6 and 7 year old children, you just get stonewalled on the "what! you heartless bastard! don't you care about the children!?!? or are you wanting to slaughter more yourself?!?!"
Oh, P.S., you have about 5 seconds to give one line, before they start pounding you with the straw man they built.
Oh, P.P.S., if you get enough in to stop the line of BS they'll surely be waiting to start in with, you get this line:

These arguments are among the reasons why I haven't spent much time on Facebook lately. I've got a few on my "friends" list who are armchair quarterbacking their views on gun control. Of course, these mental giants are also the same crowd celebrating Obama's reelection.

Which in entirely possible, hence why I asked. There is helicopter video of them handcuffing and arresting a guy in the woods wearing cammo pants and a black jacket. He was placed in the FRONT of a police car which I find strange. Children leaving the school said there was a man on the sidewalk, by one of the exit doors, face down with handcuffs on. Nothing has ever been reported about what happened to these 2 people. Inocent bystanders ? Perps ? People are asking and would like to know.

I am fortunate that I do not have any friends, or otherwise, who discuss their support for communist agendas, activities, or personnel with me. Of course, I try hard to disassociate myself from the mentally-conditioned. It would not surprise me in the least if the Manchurian Candidates performing these obscenities, like naked Katana wielding 'Samurai' running down the sidewalk (BTW, a Bushmaster Assault Rifle was found in his POV), were not staged events. Give them their fix, hand 'em some props, and call in the media. There are way too many making the "news" to be coincidental.
