I was on full alert when I saw him, but didn't call the rest of the group's attention to him as my acute shooting skills in this type of theater would have sufficed to eliminate the threat single handed.

Dennis, you had that corner seat. Even Xseler was backed up to the wall. Reflecting upon this, it's a miracle that those of us made it out alive that had our backs to everything. I think most knew not to jack with us because of the way xseler chomps that cigar kinda in a 1941 way.
I would have used you guys for cover if any return fire had occurred, hence my position. Cover of any sort is appropriate in an eggbert situation. Possibly pointed at one of you folks as the shooter to give me time to draw and eliminate the threat.
That's what tactical operators do in that situation.
