Dump all taxes, income, corporate, all of them. Go to a flat sales tax across the board paid at the time of purchase and levies on imports. Do that and you also get to get rid of the IRS and state collection agencies. Then maybe, just maybe, the mutilnationals might pay more in taxes than I do. Could do a 1% tax on financial transactions, would bring in boat loads of cash.

I don't get it....OK is not exactly a low tax state. Where is all the money currently going? Very little seems to be being spent on the roads, very little on education. They're spending a bunch on downtown while the rest of the sprawling city sits in a 60's time warp.

I'm guessing your joking, eh? Sin taxes seldom bring in as much as they are hyped. There are still counties in Oklahoma where you can't get liquor by the drink.

And remember how the lottery was gonna solve all of Oklahoma's educational funding problems. And before that betting on horse races was gonna bring in zillions.

No, Oklahoma government has a spending and corruption problem.

agree with CharlieMurphy - a sales tax would be ideal...then bump it up 1% next year while reducing personal income tax a like amount. You'll wind up with people paying 5000 on a new 100k car - 2500 on a 50k and 1250 on a 25k....a fair tax...across the board...buy a new suit for 2000 while someone else buys one for 300...the tax is appropriate for the income levels of everyone....

I thought liqueur by the drink was going to solve our states tax problems,then para mutual gambling and horse racing was.oh then there was the tobacco tax and the lottery and gross production tax etc. you would think Oklahoma would be flush with tax money.

Get rid of casinos. That is where a large chunk of money goes. Get rid of Native American car tags unless the person lives on tribal trust land. I am part Indian, but I think the Tribal crap is ruining Oklahoma.

Ugh, the legislature isn't asking you what kind of tax system you would like to have.
They are telling you what they intend to do to you.

Exactly, which is why it needs to break. The whole thing needs to fall apart so we can put something in place that works. Hopefully they don't bleed everyone dry before it blows up.
