They hang it by the head to skin it. I like to hang it by the head when I've skinned them myself too, which is why I went ahead and left it. Don't get me wrong- I'm not putting all the blame on Walkes. I blame myself equally.
Have you called the game warden for county the processor is in? If manager/ owner thinks the kid took it and you think so, maybe a little visit by the game warden will help it turn up.
I took a hog skull in to be cleaned up for a European mount on May 29th to a taxidermist here. In September, I asked how it was coming. He said he hadn't worked on it because of the burn ban. (burn ban started in July)
I shot another boar with big cutters in October so I asked then about the boar skull, so I could decide if I wanted to get this one done if he lost it. He told me he sent it off for beetles to clean it. I am not sure whether he has it or not. I did this boar skull on my own, just in case. It definitely isn't a payment issue, he never has to hold my mounts for payment like he does for some.
