The point I'm trying to make is that if Romney had won, none of this talk about seceding would even be taking place because people would push their dissatisfaction with the federal gov to the way side because a guy with an R next to his name won. People would be complicit with Romney even though nothing would change.

You're right, instead of petitions, we'd be having riots in multiple urban locales...

A White House petition gathering force calls for citizenship to be stripped and exile for anyone who signs a petition in favor of a state's secession.

"Mr. President, please sign an executive order such that each American citizen who signed a petition from any state to secede from the USA shall have their citizenship stripped and be peacefully deported," the full petition reads.

The title of the petition is, "WE PETITION THE OBAMA ADMINISTRATION TO: Strip the Citizenship from Everyone who Signed a Petition to Secede and Exile Them."

As of this writing, 2,205 have signed the petition; 22,795 more signatures are needed for the issue to be addressed by the White House.

I sat in my treestand this morning trying to think of a classy way to say that you Texas-secession masturbaters are egregious dumbasses with laughably pubescent world views and how no thought that has ever passed through your feeble manchild brains has ever warranted verbalization let alone discussion.

In all seriousness, I personally hate to see the country divided as it is. We used to look past these things and find common ground. But it's not only politics that divide us. What do we have in common with people in the northeast or in Southern California? We think differently, we work differently, we have different values, different outlooks on what family consists of, on education, etc. Maybe we've crossed a threshold somewhere in the past 50 years that the gap in our differences has become too wide. If we find that we're a different people altogether, then maybe it's time we formed a different nation.

We have lots in common with the N East and California. The may talk different, eat different foods and be socially liberal. But they are just as American as anyone else.

You say we think differently, how so? How are their values different than ours? Hows their idea of family any different than ours?

Ask a "yankee" these questions, you'll see we're really not different on things that matter.

Now heres a serious answer to your question. Culturally, we're different, Politically, we're different but what do we Okies citizens have in common with the Yanks?

1. National Security
2. Interstate Commerce
3. Respect for Local, State and Federal Laws
4. Representation at State and Federal level
5. Ability to vote
6. A court system
7. Bad roads

I cannot say it better than Lincoln did with his Gettysburg Address. Read that for a refresher.

if Texas were to ceceded from the Union....in 24 months spanish would be their national language and the drug cartels would own the new nation.....the cartels would finally have the ideal nation--perfectly located and they could take it by force of arms...the original citizens would become illegal immigrants flooding the neighboring states with refugees seeking political asylum, food,clothing and shelter (welfare).... GET A GRIP ....

OR....... Texas would seal the border properly, take a no ******** approach and eliminate the cartels in Mexico, if need be!
