Remember to tell yourself that the next time the .gov passes an onerous gun control measure, or any law you disagree with for that matter.

I've never seen such a bunch of whiny ingrates complain about how others exercise their 1st Amendment rights in my life. :rolleyes2

Think about the comparison you're trying to make. No 2A measures were passed. In fact nothing was passed. This is about losing an election, not losing rights.

Do you think this Texas ceding petition talk is serious debate about the 1A? Sorry but while it may fall under 1A, its stupid talk, deserving of ridicule.

You know for what is basically just a peaceful protest, I am seeing a lot of butthurt from our lefty friends.

Perhaps I could take it as a serious protest if there was anything serious to take. An internet petition on a state trying to leave the union, right after losing an election is far from serious.

Perhaps they should go door to door to gather written signatures from citizens of Texas. Then submit that to
they're legislators and governor.

I geuss they dont teach that process in GOP school, but it doesnt surprise me.

So what's your solution to reaching an unresponsive government? I'm all ears!

Makes almost as much sense as a bunch of idiots protesting businesses while carrying and wearing their products, or the lefts "peaceful protest" where they only destroy property.

It starts with a grass roots movement at a very local level. Then you nominate and get them on the ballot. Get out and campaign to spread your message. Go door to door. Start local and progress from there. If people like your message and you can turn out your supporters, you have a chance.

Take a look at how Obama did it. Many people on this board ridiculed him for being a community organizer and having no experience. They grossly underestimated him and his ability to be a politician.

Theres your start, do this and reach the National level and our government will respond.

I'm not a betting man, but I would put money down that if you DID put it to a vote in Texas that you would find a majority willing to secede. It may be that it's a rediculous idea but Texans have always considered themselves a republic unto itself even after statehood.

The best part about this whole thing is how Rick Perry is getting himself in hot water by coming out and saying there is no way Texas will secede. He's getting torn up bigtime on news websites in Texas. He should have just kept his mouth shut and let the Obama regime give everyone in Texas the "Big NO".
