Texas Permitted Open Carry

Good to see that Oklahoma can be a positive example for the 2A community. Also, SB17 would allow residents of states with reciprocity with Texas to open carry while in Texas.

I will be at SWSX this coming week again for the I cant tell you how many times and all the years I have gone I have never even carried concealed when there due to getting major F'd up and in bar after bar. I lock em up in the hotel safe and have never felt like I needed one with me in all the years Ive been going, a good knife in my pocket and my boxing hands and Im good to go. Would I open carry if I could, no, like here I dont usually, and for sure would not at the festival, but normally when out and about while in Dallas or Houston late at night maybe I would. Especially some of the places I go to around the Dallas area, like in Garland for sure.

I hope that it passes. Did I read the new 30.07 sign right? It sounded like instead of making it where you cannot carry in some places that are listed it would now make it where you could carry concealed but not openly? Or is that in addition to the old signage?

Sounded that way to me as well. If they want to completely ban carry they would have to post BOTH the 30.07 and the 30.06 signs to do so.
