My ex wife is a bitch. No wait. Shes a witch. I always get that messed up...

No,seriously though, shes Wiccan and is in a coven in Iowa. I am more pagan, but study Wicca. My 16 yr old daughter who lives with her mother in Iowa is just now getting involved in the coven. Theyre pretty harmless. They remind me of something close to the women in the movie 'Practical Magic'. My ex is German and was involved in it with family and friends in Europe before her family moved to the US when she was 18.
The more than 10 years we were together was pretty interesting, and intense. We were/still are heavily involved in studying mysticism, metaphysics, majik, psychic phenomena and belonging to paranormal groups. We also like studying about the Druids,Celtic majik,Gothic religions, European pagans, etcetc. Its not black magic or the occult either, quite the opposite. Very benign and harmless, and actually very peaceful. My ex sells candles, incense, beadwork, silver jewelry, metalworks, crystals and stones, our art,etc that she makes herself in a successful online business as well as traveling in the fall and setting up boothes at metaphysical faires all over the country where she sells her stuff and also reads peoples cards(Tarot,Druid tarot) at her booth. Its not a life for everybody though. As business partners co-owning a tattoo/piercing shop and selling our art we still have to work together and still have a kid to raise a couple more years,as well as still sharing an interest in this stuff together. The marriage stopped working but we didnt stop being friends.
My current wife is Christian,Methodist, and while she isnt particularly charismatic or evangelic, she just isnt interested in any of it and she doesnt really want any of this stuff near her. So I am allowed to have my own room where I keep all of my 'creepy' stuff (according to her),along with my reptiles and arachnids,as long as the room is away from her- its connected to my other space in our garage that we converted.
Being more than a 1/4 and less than a 1/2 American Indian I just always felt more connected to nature based types of energy than to the trinity based faiths. Growing up I wasnt a very good Catholic. As an Agnostic since I was 16 I have always had to 'test the waters' and see for myself what types of energy are 'out there'. I also am the ultimate sceptic too so most anything I have ever studied has been with alot of scepticism and cynicism. Still,Ive spent quite a bit of time hanging out in paranormal groups and going out visiting 'supposed' haunted sites, etc. Since I was a kid Ive always loved to visit old graveyards and cemetaries, when the sun goes down naturally. I even took mortuary classes at a school in San Francisco and would like to finish up at ECU in Edmond some day. I worked for a funeral home for awhile, and then in a business doing cleanup at death, suicide and murder scenes in California.

Halloween is my Christmas. Autumn and fall are my favorite times of the year. Winter and everything being dead and cold is nice too.

I will say this. DO NOT SCREW WITH THIS!

Bad stuff will happen. There were some witches on my Mom's side of the family. Not a good thing.:lookaroun

I agree.

I know many who say they are into it, but they're not really. They are just 'associating' with the pagan life without really being deeply involved. They think they're witches, etc; but they really are not into the serious side of things.

And yes, Wicca and Satanism are not the same. I never tried the satanism part. Bad stuff.

I got deep deep deep into the sorcery side of things in my mid to late 20's. I ended up 'literally' getting the hell scared out of me with the strange things that started happening in my life. It was a downward spiral with a bad ending.

I switched back to Christianity and never looked back. Things are much better. (I'm not going to get into that debate here though).

I still have many friends who are pagans and practice different levels of the occult. They are good people. Fortunately they have not pursued the levels of involvement I did, and I hope they don't. Most of them just like the feeling of that lifestyle, but don't seriously practice it.
