I don't read any of Stephen King's books anymore, but out of the ones I did read I liked The Shining, Salem's Lot, and Cujo, but my favorite, by far, was The Stand. And, IMHO, no one could have played Jack Torrance better than Nicholson did. The only exception may have been Anthony Hopkins. I could definitely see him taking the roll to the extremes.

The Shining contains is Stanley Kubrick's confession. Kubrick shot the moon landing on a sound stage. There was a good documentary on it that has been removed from youtube.

Perhaps the greatest director of all time. It's shame that Hollywood killed him for Eyes Wide Shut, and we will never see the missing footage result after his death.
Tom Cruise wanted , then Wife, Nicole Kidman to do a Porno documentary of their true life and claim it as mainstream.

I knew King was nuts, years ago. Maximun Overdrive was good.

Great writer, no doubt, but as a person I just can't deal with his far left liberal views. I have passed on just about everything he has done since the shinning. Why can't great entertainers just entertain/write and just STFU😡
- I love the works of Steven King as a writer meaning I could care less about his politics, religion, 'identity', or anything else EXCEPT his ability to write pieces that keep me enthralled.
- No offense intended, but I find it a little sad (and wimpy) when someone feels that they have to change what they do, whether it be what they read, going to a movie, what they buy, or other things just because they don't agree with the beliefs or lifestyle of someone else. Might be more of a consideration if one is 'shopping' for a SO, otherwise . . .

I liked The Shining movie, but the book was 100 times better. I've never really been a fan of King's books when they are converted to movies. They just never seem to be able to match my imagination when they transition to the screen. Plus I really hate when the film maker deviates much from the source material, and every King movie I have seen seemed to deviate quite a lot.
Pet Cemetery as a movie was pretty good. One of the few, in my opinion, where the movie was equal to or better than the book.
