Yep, that's why he has amassed a whoping 19 delegates so far. Obama had droves of young people supporting him and still does too. See where that got us? Most young people don't have enough real life experiences to know what is best for them.

Yeah, one day they'll have the life experience to know Rick Santorum is best for them like many older GOP voters. Fawktardation is not something you grow out of.

I don't think cjj is saying Paul has the support he needs now, obviously he doesn't - he's saying the only young voters the GOP is gaining are Paulkids. The GOP is either gonna have to embrace Paulkids or keep handing the whitehouse to Democrats...just like they're gonna do in November. Obama is in like Flynn, baby.

I agree with you that Paul is fringe candidate and there's no vast conspiracy keeping him down. But Santorum or Romney are gonna look pretty fringey as they give their concession speech this fall.

Ridge got it mostly right. Paul ran in 2008 also; compare his percentages with the same states then with this election. You'll see he's doubled his support - and has done it in a race with Romney (again) and the venerable Newt Gingrich. And he's doing it with the youngest voting block, while being an "out-of-touch" 76 years old. It's easy math.

As more of the older GOP voters that have recurring nightmares of IUD's, gays kissing and military peacetime start to die off - the only possible way to replace them is to try to drag younger, less neo-conny kids into their chairs. Otherwise young people will just vote democrat. I really don't see any other hope for the GOP. 2012 will be a good test. If I'm right and Obama sweeps it, my point will be made. If I'm wrong, it just means we're a few years shy of that point yet. But you people that think that the necons can really outnumber the liberals in the coming decades have your head pretty deep in the sand.

Even if the GOP embraces Paulkids, that may not be enough. Obama carried the 18-29 vote like it weren't no thing in 2008 (68% IIRC?). Young people don't buy what the GOP is selling, and all I know is they're gonna have to sell something different or become the political equivalent of the La Brea Tar Pits...because they keep making more young people everyday. I can take you to the hospital and show ya some coming off the line!

Ron Paul's views on the issues are keeping Ron Paul down. Not any mentality I have.
You are so correct...surely we all want Iran to have a nuclear bomb. Then the idiot could wipe us all out. That idea is the only reason I would NEVER vote for Ron Paul. I don't need any other reason...
