maybe the optic on said rifle failed and they didnt have a BUIS????

Exactly. Considering real people have been deployed to real war zones without optics and/or BUIS' for their rifles in less stressful times...it's not too much of a stretch to see a rifle, nearly a year into the "zombie apocalypse", lacking one or both.

It's a show about the dead walking, and eating the living, but "holy crap, no BUIS? That's B.S.!". LOL

I'm definitely interested to see how this story line progresses and how close they stay to the original story. Some minor things are definitely different but I wonder how far it will diverge before the season is over. At the rate they are progressing through the story, I could see them leaving the prison by the end of the season. But some serious shtf situations will have to occur before then. Can't wait. :)

Kirkman et al have done a good job of drawing me in and wanting me to keep watching each episode. That wasn't necessarily the case through most of the farm season.

And I'm glad Rick has nutted up. The world has changed bro. You can't be such a pansy and expect to be able to protect yourself and your family. I'm glad they get that now.

While this kind of stuff is annoying to your regular gun enthusiast, it has to get a pass for the reasons mentioned. And even when they have optics or irons its not like they use them. You see more of a spray and pray method employed. Would that really be any different than in a real world scenario with untrained folks? The only thing that would be different is that they wouldn't hit anything and there would be a lot of ADs and friendly fire incidents.

Love the bayonet on Merle's stump. I am completely unfamiliar with the comic book version, but got hooked on this last year. Rented the 1st season as my wife wasrecovering from surgery, figured we could kill some time. Watched the whole thing until 3AM.....
Prediction: Darrell(spelling?) will have a moment of moral clarity and will have to choose between his racist brother and the group.
Hope: Lori gets bit, has a zombaby and Rick and Carl put them down, without firearms. Merle gets some payback for his hand.

Do you guys think what happens to Rick in the comics at Woodbury, will happen on the show? Also what about Lori and Judith, think that will happen in the show? I don't think either thing will, but that's just me.

Okay, I'm going all Spoiler Alert here.

My prediction is that its just set up too nicely for Rick not to lose his hand at Woodbury with the whole Merle thing. I think that Merle will somehow manage to cut off Rick's hand and then later Daryl will have to kill Merle when he sees just how off his rocker he is. Well, I think it hinges on who rapes Michone. Govenor or Merle??? If Merle rapes her I could see her cutting him up and the Daryl killing him later on. If the Gov rapes her, I see a shorter story line for Merle. I did like the fact that in the comic, the governer's walker daughter got to eat Rick's freshly amutee hand. Well, like is a strong word but it definitely was an oh ****, no she just di'nt moment. Definitely sucked for Rick though.

And the whole Lauri getting capped thing. I think that they should do it. Without the whole, anybody can die at any given time thing, the story loses a bit of its gusto. And I'd like to see how it changes Rick. Does it break him or make him more of a bada$$?
