They needed a good episode after the previous week, that was one of the worst. I enjoyed this episode quite a bit. But I'm still growing more & more impatient, I think I'm going to read the comics. I wanted to wait until the tv show ran it's course but now I'm not so sure I'm willing to wait.

I started the comics a couple weeks ago. There are a lot of the same characters, but very different story lines, I wouldn't say they're all that much the same, other than Rick waking up in a hospital, zombies, guns, the Governor and couple more things. Plot lines are just different, so just FYI.

The books are vastly different (I'm in chapter 9 or so now, I think), but I can see the roots of the show in the book, but just barely. I like that fact, honestly.

The season finale is gonna be interesting. From a tactical standpoint it is kinda stupid to attack a fortified position such as a prison but hey its just a TV show.

I thought about that, but in reality, they can cruise right through the fences. The preview show them popping the guard tower with an RPG, so they're not going in with just sharp sticks, you know?

Does it really matter? He knows merle died as a direct result of the governor's ultimatum. I don't think he cares if it was the governor or the men under his charge, he's going to want revenge.

Right, but my original point was that I can see him blaming Rick for Merle's death due to Rick sending him out there.

Nope, cause Rick told Daryl he couldn't do it but he couldn't find Merle or Michonne either. So Daryl already knew Merle went on his own & I believe he knew why. Merle had preached from the time he arrived at the prison that there was no deals with the Governor & that the Governor would kill them all or worse. He knew Rick was thinking about taking the deal & that he would take Daryl with him. So in an attempt to save his brother & get revenge on the Governor he went off on his own. From the way it played out Merle knew it was a suicide mission. I was glad to see him show his human side by letting Michonne go & using the walkers to help him instead. Showed he was capable of not being a complete a-hole but also wasn't comfortable not being one either.

I don't know the chapter I'm in, I've been reading the compendiums and started the 3rd one a few days ago. As a reference, some of the group has just gotten out of Woodbury.
'Vastly different'. I can agree with that.
