One of the neat things about managing your own property and monitoring with cameras is that you get to know your deer and the family units.
The doe that is nursing here is actually the mother of the twins standing next to her. They were born late last year and had spots all the way up to muzzleloader season last year. Though young, I am still surprised they did not breed in the late season last year.
She has it easier this year. I watched her twins nurse together so hard last year that they would lift her rear end off the ground.
I just started putting out a little soured corn to get the deer coming in. I'll switch to something else in a few days once they start making it a habit of stopping by.
New spot on the ranch this year. Had this dude show up again. Wondering if he's going to stay somewhere else and just be nocturnal here or if I'll actually get a crack at him. It is just good right now to know he made it another season.
Another part iof the ranch has this bachelor group of five that cruises the Eastern half. I'm sure that they'll split up and only one or two will stay.
They crossed in front of a camera two days ago about 30 seconds apart. The cool thing is that with every photo, you can see the previous one up the trail. It's like a train of antlers.
