Do you think it is genectic? If so do you know who momma is? She will keep producing those genectics. What should I do with this guy, take him out of the gene pool or see if his rack grows back better next year?
It could be damage to pedicle.

I don't know, this is the first season hunting this spot. There are at least 4-5 does to pick from who could be the mother. I'd like to shoot at least one of the two big bucks and then some of the does.Do you think it is genectic? If so do you know who momma is? She will keep producing those genectics.

I'm definitely shooting some does.My brother in law use to have messed up bucks and he wouldn’t shoot any does we finally convinced home to kill some one year after that he started getting extremely better bucks one over 170”
That would make a pretty pictureI decided to sit over a water hole where I have no stand. I nestled into a little scrub oak overlooking the waterhole. This doe came strolling by within about 12-15 ft.

She was a very pretty doe. In far better shape than I would have expected in this drought. That would make a pretty picture
With my opinion and $5 you can get a cup of coffee at Starbucks, but if it were my first year hunting a place, I wouldn’t start making the judgement calls on genetics. I’ve seen multiple bucks have a screwed up racks one year and grow a near perfect rack the next. Even if it grows back jacked up next year, it could be some kind of permanent pedicle damage and not genetic.I don't know, this is the first season hunting this spot.
