Not really. I had access to an airplane, so I didn't have to bother with security. Or commercial airports.

Seat 0B isn't bad either, as I did when giving instruction.

I've traveled with a pistol on airlines a couple of times in the checked luggage. Actually pretty easy to do. The only time there was any hassle was in the new Denver Airport. When I declared I had a gun in my luggage, they had a TSA officer escort me to a room where my bag was taken and inspected without opening it. They went around the edges with a wand, put a sticker on it, and put it on a conveyor.
