Then with a 2-3 second change in vantage point of the helicopter, it is gone...

It should be visible at that angle, matching up with the smear on the door, with the beige upholstery as a backdrop.

It's all over Facebook, he has quite a rap sheet and spent a lot of time in prison. Drugs, resisting arrest, DUI, public intoxication, shootings, and he just recently got out. Why would someone who just paid his debt to society and is a free man again, use PCP? Also on Facebook there are other videos surfacing showing a dash cam video of an officer in Georgia who handled a VERY similar situation and the cop kept screaming at a man to not move and the man reach in his Ford Ranger truck. The officer was yelling so long his voice went horse and then the guy pulls an M-1 carbine with 30 round magazine and starts firing. The officer fires many rounds and scores a minor hit but the man charges towards the patrol car and hits the officer and his screams are bone chilling! The officer was later found shot through the left eye.

Take a look on OSCN under his name. You'll find a whole bunch of warrants out on him. Recently a number of them were sent for collections.

Initially only the single officer was present and was attempting to contain the situation prior to the arrival of backup. The citizen was being generally non-compliant and kept reaching for a pocket, a pocket that might conceal a gun. The protocol is to deal with that circumstance with presentation of deadly force. The LE exercised a lot of restraint IMO during that lengthy period.

Typical LE rule is that additional officers must be on the scene in position to deal with citizen before less-lethal options can be offered. You will note that the 2nd officer on the scene was presenting his Taser as he quickly advanced to the side of the first officer

Why did only one fire? Perhaps because that officer was the only one seeing the hand moving toward the pocket again. Lots of IDN in this story.

Officer Betty Boop probably isn't racist. She probably would have freaked and dropped a giant white biker looking dude accidentally, too.

Helicopter audio doesn't help it not appear to have racial overtones, tho. I don't see why he 'looked like a bad dude'. Looks like your average dude eating next to me at Evelyn's on any given day.
