Last spring, one of the guys on the lease south of my place texted me to get permission to look for a turkey he shot, but he didn’t find it.
I smoked the last half of the breast from my fall bird a couple days ago and got a surprise when I was eating a slice last night. It appears I may have found the bird he shot, since I killed the turkey with a crossbow.

I’ve still been trying to find the right gun/choke/load combo, and I think I’m finally done. Benelli M1 Super 90 12 ga, HS Strut Undertaker .675 choke, Doctor Optic red dot on a Burris Speed Bead mount, and 1 1/4 oz 7.5 shot, 29.9 grains Longshot, WAAF114 wad, Win 209 primer in a Winchester hull.
