I hate inventory time. I skipped last years inventory because I hate inventory time. That means this years is going to suck even more. And it's colder too. Should NOT have skipped last year's inventory.
That's real similar to what I do. I make notes on SN, picture, accessories, and then dumb stuff like "do I have a box and did I put the box in the attic" or things so that I know if I ever sell something then I can give the thing complete and not find parts down the road and go "oh I should have got those to ___ back in the day".I used to run an complete inventory on large parts every 3 months. But would only take a couple of guys 3 hours to finish. And even then when one guy couldnt count, it added more time for recounts. get a way to list it on a program. scanned in.. add info . In my personal inventory I have a binder with pictures and SN's listed. When I would pick up a new I would snap a phone pic and email it to be printed. Move sold pics to a sold binder for future reference
Lol... I did get a magnet fishing line like 2 weeks ago. Now just to find the right bridgeKeep a spreadsheet. Update at time of acquisition or disposal. Listed with add-ons, s/n, value. I, also, list purchase price, purchase date and disposal date.
Looking at the list, I am amazed that I'm alive. I can't believe how many toys I have lost in boating accidents and deposited on the bottom of the lake.
I may do some magnet fishing, when the weather warms up. 20° at 8:00, I'm not getting on the water, today.
