They are going to put "wood" flooring down there. Not sure how that will be on top of tile.
If it's vinyl and not actual tile then the wood will lay on it just fine. I doubt they are gluing wood to the slab. Probably a snap together wood floating floor. It goes over anything flat just fine.

Remove any bumps and fill any voids if is that fake wood snap together stuff. Those imperfections might telegraph through.

They might have a hand operated option that is certainly easier to transport and handle
There are few tools in my arsenal that I have looked at more often and said "Man, this thing was a good investment" about more than my Bosch Hammer RH432.

I recently got one of the 5" scraper bits for it on sale for $8 and absolutely obliterated some flooring with it. Good times.

How cool that you’re getting it done. Some good folks left out there. Make sure you offer coffee in the morning and tea around lunch, goes a long way.
I told them I would. They told me not to. Not only are they doing the work, but are bring in a dumpster for the old carpet and junk, porta potty for the other waste, tent set ups for their people to take breaks under, but also snacks and drinks. I offered to have tea, coffee, etc and the use of our two restrooms but they declined. Hell I was going to make cookies but they said no. There may still be a box of cookies left on the kitchen counter and if they should disappear, oh well. :P

I was thrilled when they said they were going to remove the old carpet since I think that will help my breathing issues, but then going to fix or replace windows and do some yard work! I am thanking God, and them. Might just get me caught up where I can stay ahead of things. i am REALLY looking forward to the 11th and 12th and the chance to thank all the volunteers in person.

Wife is taking the dogs to the daughters place on the 11th when they get here around noon. They are going to move the furniture that I can not, pull the carpet, etc. Come back the 12th and lay the floor then move everything back in. She is not sure how many people they will have but said if they do not get finished they will bring in pros to finish. Heck the get the floor down and move the heavy stuff, I will take care of the rest.
