I mailed two money orders and an FFL to a guy in FL for a rifle. A very expensive rifle. I paid $10.95 to send it via Priority Mail instead of 70 cents (or whatever a letter costs these days) so it could be tracked. I dropped it in the mail at the Ada PO on Mon Dec 9th at 11:14am.

It got scanned in Ada and OKC the next day, then *POOF*... No further tracking, no movement, no delivery, no nothing.

And that MF'r from the video covers his ears and tells me there's nothing wrong with the USPS.

Yeah. You're right. It was $10.45. I don't feel nearly as bad now as I did. Even though it still hasn't been updated since it left OKC. That 50 cents makes it all better.

I mean, if the USPS can't find Florida I'd be happy to donate a map...or send them a link to Google maps...if it'll help.

Our local PO has 3 mail carriers. 2 are off because of vehicle wrecks (in postal vehicles on the job)
The 3rd is our regular carrier, who was moved to another route and temps brought in.
Our regular carrier has made delivery between 10:30 and 11:00 for 3 years. Our mail has been delivered after 2:00, for the past month. Wif had a stack of Christmas cards going out, today. At 4:50, mail had not been by. She took cards to PO, to go out at 5:00.
Mail carrier was here at 5:15.

So busy, but mismanaged to lose money. Sounds like goobermint.

So I was just searching how to get a refund for a money order lost in the mail. Lost by the post office. The USPS website says there is a $20.15 fee to replace a lost or stolen money order.

They charge you $3.40 for the money order (x2 in my case). Then it's $10.45 for basically a tracking number. That's the difference between a regular letter and putting it in a letter-sized Priority Mail envelope. Then the USPS loses the money orders. Then they charge $20.15 each to process a refund which takes God only knows how long.

What a f'ing racket that is.
