Afternoon all,

I have a few questions for you all...before I look it up on the internet. So, today.before our staff meeting I hear a few of my subordinates talking about free or reduced cost to watch NFL games.

Okay...I'm thinking illegal and start to tune them out. In between the coffee, donuts and waiting on everyone to get to the meeting room I hear this.

" I use a VPN through my router/computer, pay $4.00 a month and watch all the NFL games with no blackouts."

I don't want a VPN...I'm going the PS3 NFL ticket.

I'm old and detest computers....thank Jesus,Allah, and Buddah for my secretary.

What I don't like is ....getting old you either ignore new technology or can't understand it. So...what the heck is a VPN..unblock device?

If its illegal...NEVER MIND.

If not...what the heck were they talking about...VPN...watching unlimited sports or NFL through their computer.

The reason I didn't join in the conversation...if its illegal, I don't want my boss/the big boss to question me on this. Moving up in a management position has some perks and some drawbacks.

So...what the heck is a VPN..unblock device? How does it work? How do you subscribe to it? If legal...is it worth it?

I dislike getting old...heck..I still think XM sattelite radio is advanced technology.

Thanks.

VPN stands for Virtual Private Network.
The technology itself is usually employed by businesses to allow employees to connect to the company network remotely, giving access to files, printers, and other network resources, wherever they can get an internet connection.
I can however see how it could be employed by a pirate service to resell TV service at a reduced rate.

Read rhoedsbe's link, and I see what they're doing. They are flanking around GeoBlocking by accessing material from a non GeoBlocked IP. Actually not technically illegal, yet, but a very grey area at best. I wouldn't recommend doing it.
