Former Walmart employee here. Management will lose their minds if they even miss a dollar sale.
I am still trying to figure out what went into their decision to stop selling handgun ammo.

I guess because joe says and says all you need is a shotgun...I am still trying to figure out what went into their decision to stop selling handgun ammo.
Because a guy used a hand gun at the Tx Walmart mass shooting. Knee jerk reaction.I am still trying to figure out what went into their decision to stop selling handgun ammo.

If the guy had used a 30-06 in a garand, they would have banned centerfire rifle ammo.
I couldn't tell you. I reload everything with exception of 9mm. When they put the handgun ammo on clearance, I cleaned out the walmarts in Blackwell and Ponca City of 9mm. 1/2 of what I could reload it for. Some also bought well when that occurred $6.50-$7 for a box of 9mm .223 was also a bargain, that wasn't too long ago.. There was a good brick seek buzz going on round here at the time.. How long ago was that ?
Their "social conscience" won't allow that. Keeping that ammo off the shelves in walmart will prevent future mass shootings. Right?I'd like to see them put handgun ammo back in. Maybe they will reverse their decision on that too.
The Walmart at danforth and Santa Fe has yet to put ammo or guns back on the shelf
