If warp drive were possible, I think it would have been invented somewhere in the universe already.
We would have been visited by now, or seen signs of it's existense.
Even if it had been invented somewhere in our galaxy, there is no reason to believe the inventors would have automatically run across us. Even at the indicated speed of 10 x light speed, it would take around 10,000 years just to cross the Milky Way, much less search it.
