Nothing really seems weird to me except maybe the officers questionable decision to have his handgun out of the holster (at least he was calm and not waving it around so I would've just enjoyed the show LOL).

Newcastle P.D. works that part of the road a lot. I would suspect the majority of the tickets written by Newcastle PD are written there. That being said, there is nothing wrong with where they set up. It is all part of law enforcement.
As for the police officer having his weapon drawn, I have a question, are your windows tinted? Police officer's put their life on the line every time they pull anyone over. They never know if there is a guy in the back seat with a shotgun pointed at him, or in the front seat if the windows are tinted. You never know if he just received a call for a car like yours, that was used in a armed robbery, escaped prisoner, etc. Being pulled over by the police can be a tense situation, people on either side of the badge never know what is going on in the others mind. All we can do as citizens is be polite, if you are carrying, make that point clear at the beginning, and never argue with a police officer, you can always do that in court if needed. Just a suggestion.

I totally agree with this. I believe that you quickly let him know that you are legally armed and the location of the weapon. But I do wonder what he would be thinking as an individual with mal intent would probably not announce that he had a weapon.
But, after every traffic stop, the goal will be for both of us to get home safely and sleep in our own beds.

Get pulled over in Hollis, Oklahoma... Guns drawn are the norm for the initial contact lmao
just a reminder, if you come into contact with a LEO during the course of traffic stop, detainment, or arrest you must tell officer if you have your gun and license at the first opportunity. This is not a suggestion but OK law.
Saw a OHP pull over a SUV in broad daylight and in the busiest part of town. He approached from the passenger side (safest for several reasons) not with gun drawn, but he was sure ready, he had his hand on his gun and approached slowly and being very observant. Wifey was with me and watched it and said "I couldn't do that". I said well they have a lot of training in different areas so they kind of have a "sixth sense" if you will, if his hackles were really up the gun would be out of it's holster or if they were REALLY, REALLY up his gun would be out of it's holster and he would order them to come to him. She said "I don't care, I wouldn't do it". lol
For the record I don't blame the LEOs a bit in these times we live, people are friggin crazy!

I thought it was illegal to have a drop in speed of more than 10-15 mph. The original post said the speed limit drops from 65-45. All I could find was 47 os 11-803. It stated a 10 mph drop. Maybe someone on here has more Google Fu than I.
Its illegal all speeds cant go up or down more than 10mph at one time it has to be stepped down and has to be so far apart (can't remember the footage off top of head) with the exception of a school zone and i think it is a 20mph drop not sure on that would have to go back to my manual for that one since i dont use it very often most of my school zones drop 10 mph.
