I've never had a personal phone just what the company gives me. So I've had both Iphone and Samsung. Currently have a Galaxy 10 now and its pretty awesome. I do not like Apple proprietory crap. I guess they did away with Itunes which is great. But pulling photos and video off the Samsung is so much easier as well as adding music to it.

I've had both Android phones and iOS phones . . . I loved the customization and storage options for my old Samsung phones, but ultimately caved to pressure from the family and got an iPhone 8 Plus several years ago. Once I figured out how to sync my contacts from Google it was all good. Storage isn't much of a problem for me with all of the cloud backup options for pictures and videos. The only real music I'm downloading is my Spotify playlists.

I think our first phones were Motorola, but it's been Samsung ever since. Never had an iPhone, so I can't really compare. I do honestly think it has a lot to do with the operator. I think our adult kids are both running iPhones, but I know our son has had both ... sometimes employer provided. They don't have any issues that I'm aware of, but they're more tech savvy. I do have a friend in his 60's with some serious health issues who has an iPhone, but has all kinds of trouble with it. I'm sure part is operator error. I will say, he's had it for several years now, so it's holding up pretty well.

All of my smartphones have been LGs, with two exceptions--a Motorola that I bought from Amazon and one manufacturer I can't recall but the phone had one of those micro QWERTY keyboard sliders. I thought it would work for me but it was dead slow and the keyboard was so small it was clunky.

The only problem I've had with LG phones has been the storage. My present phone is the Stylo 5 (on Walmart Family Mobile.) It has 32 GB of internal memory which is fine for me. My biggest annoyance now is the size--why is it that whenever I get pants with a decent phone pocket, the manufacturers make the phone bigger than the pocket? My Stylo 5 sticks out about 20% from the pocket on my cargo pants. What I do like is the fingerprint reader. I never thought I would, but it makes it real handy. I have both index fingers registered so I can open the phone one handed with either hand.

EDIT: The slider phone was a Kyocera Rise! A quick check of their website shows that they are down to making only two phone models--one flat screen and one flip.
