Many good whiskies that were around $30 became so popular that prices went crazy and many are hard to find even at two to three times that now.

My favorite every day bourbon, Old Weller 107, became out of reach for me a few years ago both in price and availability.

I have one unopened bottle that I got at a good price because the store owner knew that I wasn't going to flip it for a profit.
