I had some more of this this morning.

Initial neat evaluation - very acidic and medicinal nose. Not really pleasant. Strong burning early in the first sip, but surprisingly finishes very smooth. Not particularly sweet. It's not really my favorite at all, but I'm not as much a bourbon man as a single malt guy.

It does make a pretty decent whiskey sour, though. Again, not particularly sweet but the acidity is smoothed out a lot. It's not the same as the spiciness you get in a good rye, it really does seem acidic, almost medicinal.

Personally, I'll stick to the Elijah Craig, Four Roses and Weller's 107 from now on with bourbon. I'll pass on the Turkey.

Good choices but don't leave out Woodford Reserve (nectar of the gods). Tonight it's plain old makers and coke with a My Father #5. Freaking phenomenal cigar.

I've actually switched to a lot of bourbon with sweet & sour and some bitters lately. It's a lot cheaper than my single-malt preferences if I drink much (and honestly, I really do, lol). So this allows me to spend more money on guns and parts insteadof so much on whiskey every month. :(

I am one who would seriously be in the market for an entire barrel of good single-malt if it were a decent deal and I could get it.

I'm out in GA on a work trip and my boss just introduced me to a new (to me) drink. Throw some Titos vodka in with some Le Croix sparkling cherry lime water and a few squirts of lime juice. SO good. It's very refreshing.

YES! Nectar of the Gods. Early planning is going for the annual Elk hunt in New Mexico where nothing but Woodford is allowed.
Neat, never spoiled by ice or mixer.

You and I don't see eye to eye very often but you have impeccable taste in bourbon. Minor quibble though. One LARGE ice cube is ok. It chills the whiskey and melts very slowly. You get a nice chilled drink without your whiskey getting watered down.

Bottle in the freezer, and a couple of shot glasses to cycle in and out of the freezer. :clap3:

It typically gets to -25 below zero on the hunt so just putting the shot glasses out the front door gets them really cold. Cold with a glove cold.
