While I was in OK over the weekend, I had a “herd” invade one of my places here in east TX, so I used one of my few days off this time of year to try to thin the population. I’ve already got one trap set and am going to move two more from another place this weekend. It’s really not practical to try to hunt a group like this one. Trapping is much more effective and efficient. I walked in on them this morning on my way to my deer stand but was only able to kill one. I’m going to keep after them.

Very nice retrieverman I came upon about 30 in a place on this side of the red river. I got 2 shooting a 223 bolt gun.
I have since built an AR15.
But I did take out the largest female with teets hanging down.. those small ones will go hungry.. this was in February this year.
I cured the hams and kept the backstraps. she was way to large to drag out.

Yes good luck hope you get all you want.

My youngest son has been wanting to take my daughter to try to kill a pig, and they were both successful this evening. She killed this one, and he killed one a little later. Brother coaching little sister and setting her up for success makes for a proud dad moment. This was at a different place than where I killed mine this morning.

I’ve never personally had pigs “run off” deer, but I’ve had deer go “on point” and get really nervous when hogs are in the area. However, I have heard of deer being run off from people hunting in areas with extremely high pig populations.
That’s one thing I haven’t thought of you might have a point I haven’t seen any dog tracks but could be hunting without dogs it’s only 150 acres with the same guy owning everything around it
