Shot the Grendel ammo I loaded Monday. Ran out of case capacity before I hit the velocity I wanted, but accuracy was deteriorating rapidly anyway. At least the ES and SD were good.

Sized (100) .223 cases today for my build in progress. I'm just going to use that ammo to break in the barrel.

I did the easiest brass sizing ever today. I opened a box of brassmonkey 308 prepped brass. I decided for $100 per 500 and all the same headstamp I’d give them a shot.

It’s very nice looking brass. I haven’t tried any of it yet but it’s pretty.

I'm not familiar with the VV powders - is N135 extruded or ball?

With capacity problems, more ball powder will fit in a given case, as opposed to extruded.

The military couldn't get the velocity they wanted with extruded in 223/556 cases. Shifted to ball powder and the velocity problem was solved.

It is a very short cut, extruded powder.

I used to steer clear of Vhitavouri powders when they were $280 for an 8lb keg, and Hodgdon powders like Varget etc... were $240.

Now it is $350 for the Hodgdon stuff, and...$280 for the single base and pistol VV stuff.

I've turned into a big VV N1xx series of powders fan. Decent velocity (the 500 series gets you another 100 FPS as it is double base), but very consistent velocity and good accuracy so far in everything I've tried.

Loaded some 243 Win with IMR 4064 and a Berger 87 gr VLD Hunting. Shot this bullet the other day in a Ruger M77 MKII using IMR 4350 with good results. First Ruger centerfire rifle ive ever owned. Like it so far.

Loaded some 257 AI with a moly Sierra 75 gr HP. Going to try it with some IMR 4064.

It’s not reloading but relocating ammo. I’ve had some ammo prepositioned at my parent’s place in the event of a SHTF situation, but my brother (or more likely his wife) thinks he needs the space for something else. I picked it up this morning and now have to figure out where to put it at my house.
For reference, the box is 5’x2’x2’ with an inventory of 1000 rds 12 ga 00 buckshot, 7000 rds 45acp, 5000 rds 9mm, 2000 rds 223, and 2000 rds 308win.

Dropped down to 47.1 with IMR 4064 pushing Sierra 75 HP moly @3410 fps. I usually do 5 shot groups but this lightweight 7lb. 12 oz. Rem 700 in 257 AI gets 3 shot groups. I'm happy now.
